For those of you who have been enjoying the quality indie titles available on PS4 that Sony promised during their pre-launch campaign, you may be excited to hear that Futuridium EP Deluxe is coming to the PS4. Mauro Fanelli, cofounder of the two person italian indie studio MixedBag, posted the news to the PlayStation Blog.

Futuridium was announced for the PS Vita in February, but thanks to consumer demand the game will also be coming to the PS4 in stunning 1080p combined with 60 frames per second. That means you can expect that this lighting quick spaceship-shooter will look magnificent on HD TV sets having made the jump from the significantly smaller Vita screen.

Futuridium EP Deluxe is a sci-fi shooter based on older 8-bit games of the same genre, like Uridium. Players control a single ship caught in a dimensional loop tasked with destroying giant dreadnoughts. Flying over the surface of the enemy vessel the player will destroy cubes in order to keep their ship powered and expose the core of the dreadnought. Matching the adrenaline field gameplay the shooter is accompanied by a pumping soundtrack and has a distinctive polygonal art style that is full of colour and beautiful full screen effects. Basically take the Star Wars Episode IV Death Star battle and sprinkle with lofty amounts of LSD. I just have to remind myself not to play this on a hangover otherwise I may have a mind melt.

Although the standard version is available on PC, Mac and IOS, the exclusive Deluxe edition for PS Vita and PS4 promises new levels, more gameplay modes, added mechanics, more enemies, more speed, more features, additional music, leaderboards, trophies, easter eggs and is a cross buy between the two platforms. Deluxe indeed. So how much for this jam-packed indie title? Well no figure has been officially released but in response to comments made on the PlayStation Blog, Mauro stated that the final price will be under $10 (£6), not bad at all.

Futuridium EP Deluxe is slated for release Q2 2014, until then check out the trailer below to get a glimpse of the action.
